At the end of the Armorican massif, where the departments of Sarthe, Orne and Mayenne come together, the Alpes Mancelles welcome you in a set of preserved sites. Those hilly and wooded landscapes offer a range of outdoors activities for all family.
Natural site, the Alpes Mancelles will also charm you with their old villages which have been able to protect their history and their heritage : Fresnay-sur-Sarthe "Petit Cité de Caractère" (Little Town of Character), Saint-Céneri-le-Gerei "One of the Most Beautiful French Villages" and Bourg-le-Roi, a fortified village.
Saint-Léonard-des-Bois is a renowned village for hiking thanks to its situation between two hills called "Haut Fourché" and "Mont Narbonne" (203 and 217 meters high). Those natural panoramic belvederes offer magnificent panoramic views on the river Sarthe.
Not far away, you will discover the highest point of the region : "le Mont des Avaloirs" (417 meters high) between Saint-Pierre-des-Nids and Pré-en-Pail.
